crazy wacky wedding show tour

maybe a little strange, but ultimately me, to subscribe to the off-beat wedding world & DIY universe.

so, i went to a wedding show. just wanted to see what they are about, because honestly if you don’t go now, when are you going to go? paid $15 to get in, went to toronto, va dah, va dah, va dah.

the whole thing was a repetition. there were millions of venues – they all had stylish posters showing their facility just in the right light, there were photographers – showing that lucky shot out of 1,200, there were cakes galore – showing traditional designs. there were rockin’ wedding limos and buses with plasma TV’s and hardwood floors.  it was clear to see some people seem to have unlimited funds, and beyond that , it was clear to see there was no originiality to be found.

a gaggle of girls were shoving each other out of the way to receive a free pink bag.  i like a good reusable bag as much as the next person, but honestly?

i walked out of the show thinking that my ideas were better than anything in there anyone had come out with thus far. it made me more firm in what i’m doing – how we are planning this – and ultimately the calm, relaxed, camping weekend our wedding will be.
